M is for Mistakes

 

Mistakes…. wow! Even the thought of it sends shivers down my spine, and brings memories of events that have occurred in my life. Aren’t there some things that you wished you did, but didn’t?.. and others that you wish you never did? Well, i have some experiences that are right up this alley (would i want to share them here?…nah…maybe some other time..lol) To my mind, there are two types of mistakes; a blip and a catastrophe.

L is for Life, Love, Lessons and Legacy

I seem to always want to write about philosophical issues – life, why things are not the way they should be etc. I guess these are the thoughts that engulf my mind most of the time. I have a few thoughts that i have put together in bullet points on my views about life, love, lessons I’ve learnt and a legacy I’ll love to leave.

Thoughts on Life

- Each man must look to himself to teach him the meaning of life. It is not something discovered: it is something molded.
- For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away, because to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born and a time to die.
- Live all you can; it’s a mistake not to. It doesn’t so much matter what you do in particular, so long as you have your life. If you haven’t had that, what have you had?

Life is fun, enjoyable, so sweet, my brother..who would wish to die?

K is for Kismet

I was browsing a friend’s blog when i saw this word; “Kismet”. That was my first time of coming across it and curiosity took the better part of me. I did a little bit of research into it and decided to write a post on it. It is simply a noun that means destiny, fate or fortune. Another synonym is “karma”. A fundamental question that crosses my mind form time to time is, ” Is life a script?”, ” Are we supposed to play out predetermined roles?” I happen to believe you make your own destiny. You have to do the best with what God gave you. Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re goin’ to get. I do not believe in a fate that falls on men however they act; but I do believe in a fate that will not fall on them unless they act.

J is for Just Alone

Just alone.

 By all means use sometimes to be alone.

Salute thyself: see what thy soul doth wear.

Just alone. Away from the world. Alone with your inner self, where a lot of introspection is done. I really love solitude..it gives me time to think, reflect, evaluate, strategize and progress. As for those who have been following my stories, i finally have a twist to it. I have been transferred out of the island. Yup! you heard me.. that same place where everything works. lol. During my stay there, i had a lot of time for introspection. I had the luxury of watching time move in a “slow-motion” manner, taking long walks under trees, listening to birds chirping while the cool breeze moved across my body, as if reassuring me of God’s Love and Presence. I realize that a lot of people have never had this opportunity of appreciating the finer things of life and most people never will. i came across a story i read on-line and decided to reflect on it in solitude.
