Be still. . . . . .

Hey!

This week has been really stressful. I just returned from a round trip local training course. Well, although i LOVE to travel . . . (to think that i once envied air hostesses :P ), being on 5 travel routes in 5 days was a little tiring, i guess i was burnt out, coupled with the coursework and to cap it all up, i had a bit of food poisoning at one of my locations (but i’m ok now. . . thanks for caring :D ). Well, some good things also happened during the week, one of my very good friends got married and i had the opportunity to attend her engagement (albeit briefly), and also saw one of my mentors who continually inspires me.

When i got back to my base, i had to dash down to a meeting. As i got there, we opened the meeting with a round of prayer with everyone taking prayer points in turns. Just before it got to my turn, i said a silent prayer to God asking for which one He’d like me to suggest, and then the following verses came to mind;

Psalm 46:10“Be still and know that i am God. . . “
Isaiah 30:21“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Please take some time to pause and calmly think about the verses above.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

After the meeting, my mind couldn’t forget these verses. When i got home, i looked them up and kept on meditating on them. “Be still. . .” hmm . . . I looked up the word “still” in Microsoft Bookshelf and got the following;

1. Free of sound.
2. Low in sound; hushed or subdued.
3. Not moving or in motion.
4. Free from disturbance, agitation, or commotion.

Whenever you think you have a lot of things running through your mind, or you have a life-changing decision to make and it seems like your mind is about to explode. . . try to be still, cos oftentimes, in perfect silence does God’s voice ring out loud.

To-do list for this week. . . . i have a lot of Monitoring and Evaluation visits to a lot of rural farmers :D , i should visit about 25 -30 communities. . . don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted and also write about the second verse in the concluding part of this article. . .

Have a splendid week! :D
